The long-awaited John Taylor Free School opened its doors in September. The first new secondary school to open in Staffordshire for 25 years cost £30 million and took two years to build. It offers state of the art science rooms, a dance studio with a sprung floor and a large Learning Resource Centre complete with a well-stocked library. The school will eventually educate 1550 11-18-year olds.

In addition, John Taylor High School can be found in close proximity to Branston Locks, boasting an ‘Outstanding’ rating from OFSTED. There are also several early years care providers nearby, including Branston Pre-School, Chuckle Bunnies Day Nursery and Busy Bees Nursery in Burton – all of which have been rated ‘Good’ by OFSTED. Burton College is also just under four miles away.
